rey/los are hilarious and wrong but in a way i can't blame them for saying their ship is canon bc of the kiss. having rey kiss ren to show "gratitude" was a bizarre choice on the part of the filmmakers. u could show gratitude ANY other way. i'd assume rey would just. thank him?

the ship sucks and is terrible and i stand by the word of the writers that the kiss was not romantic but if they wanted it to be a "gratitude kiss" (which. what??) they needed to do a way better job of making it clear that that's what it was. but sadly, the film, had bad writing

bc i also personally saw the movie and my first reaction to said kiss was "huh???? they're romantic now??? since when????" bc that is what one TENDS TO THINK when two characters KISS in a movie. but i wasn't wrong for thinking there had been no romantic tension before-

bc there had not been, totally on purpose, but there was also nothing leading me to believe that rey is someone who would kiss a person (ren of all people) out of gratitude instead of just saying thank you. if that's what they were going for it needed to be way more clear

i'm just kind of like, what did the writers expect from this. they made a bad movie, made rey go wildly out of character, and now the rey/los are wreaking havoc. what did you expect, jj abrams, you fucking clown

anyway hope this thread wasn't too controversial. remember kids rey/lo shippers are delusional freaks who think abuse is a good baseline for a romantic ship and no canon kiss will ever change the pure essence of their ship, which is hatred, discomfort, and toxicity
