If someone wants to write a newspaper article about you, say, getting your PhD as a blind person, is it too much to make sure they can define "inspiration porn" before granting an interview? Can I request editorial review to make sure it doesn't go that route? #disability #blind

I think there is an important story to be told here about systemic and institutional factors that support success for disabled students—accessible materials, flexibility, collaboration and generosity, etc.—without objectification or exceptionalism.

And these are things that would improve higher education for everybody and make it a more humane place in general.
