Seeing how the world has changed beyond belief in just a few weeks has reinforced how priceless our Jamaat events and programmes are. Perhaps, sometimes we have been guilty of taking them for granted. Not again, Insha’Allah. 2/

When this virus, Insha’Allah, passes and we can again fill our Mosques, each overflowing with a spirit of love and brotherhood, I am sure we will recognise more than ever before their true value. 3/

In the diary, I write about Huzoor’s historic address in Berlin and some elements of Huzoor’s preparation. Often I am genuinely left utterly speechless at the way he works and manages his relentless schedule. Above all, Huzoor’s simplicity and grace. His love & concern for all 4/

I also write about an interview Huzoor gave to German National Radio in Berlin last October, in which he was asked a series of questions about women’s rights in Islam issues such as ‘Hijab’, the ‘handshake’ issue, ‘segregation’ etc. 5/

These are questions Huzoor has been asked many times. Now due to the devastating spread of Covid-19, nations are imploring their citizens not to shake each other’s hands and social distancing is no longer frowned upon but something being actively encouraged and enforced. 6/

What I am curious about is whether, once this period of enforced distancing passes & people return to their normal lives, will they still look at practicing Muslims through judgmental eyes? Will a woman who chooses to cover her face still be viewed with scorn? Time will tell. 7/

As with previous, the diary was personally checked by Huzoor prior to publication. Less than a day after I submitted it, Huzoor returned the 100+ page diary with several corrections where my memory had failed me. To my embarrassment, he also noted several typos! 8/
