Another one of
“MILLIONS WILL DIE IN MODIS INDIA” report

Lets examaine the bias OBJECTIVELY and Non reflexively

To start of with. An unpopular and necessary take

India is a land of give and take and negotiation

So while there might be shortages of medical equipment, doctors feel they need to say we have only 20% to get 90%

In India, 100% will never be possible
Coming back,
Once again we have an un-named “source”

While i trust the BBC with the “source”, I DO NOT trust them in terms of strategic emphasis and selective editing

Basically what they have done is, let the OPINION of a perhaps junior doctor be presented as FACT
A) They show a ward full of patients in unprotected environment

Are these covid patients. I do not think so, but it is shown as if THEY ARE COVID PATIENTS

Infecting each other in miserable, blighted India (“oh those unfortunate creatures”)
B) The documentary says its the ONLY hospital catering to 3mn people

Given that it looks like some kind of town, I will go out on a limb and say its FACTUALLY INPOSSIBLE

As expected they hide even the name of the area, for you to fact check
Now look at the nuance of the fudge.

BBC doesn’t say the above untruth which can be fact-checked to be false (so legally it’s not culpable)

It makes the unnamed “source” say it. It’s her OPINION

Her opinion/ exaggeration is voila, packaged/ marketed by BBC as FACT
C) The “source” says, listen carefully, We EXPECT a deluge of case

Read : CURRENTLY THERE IS NO PROBLEM

Does the BBC mention that? No
Will everybody listen to tape 4 times like me catch it? NO

So... they have made you believe that above OPINION of future is current condition
D) The opinion maker aka doctor says, we fear for rural areas. Will be completely deluged when PANDEMIC STRIKES THEM

Note: it’s not happened. It’s still kite flying

I am wondering why if 95% of global cases are in urban areas, why pandemic will strike only Indian rural areas?
E) She talks about lack of ventilators

She also talks how they are not being used now ( “we fear we will require in future”)

Ventilators are meant to be distributed as per need

That’s the case globally
F) so by now we have seen how BBC has transformed opinions of an unnamed source abt an IMAGINARY DYSTOPIAN future into some sort of fact based narrative

Like Arundhati Roy in FT, “460 million are migrant workers starving” this allows them an air of plausible deniability
G) But finally they drop their and show us a fudge which we can catch

They compare UK(&World) and India public healthcare costs

THEY ARE NOT COMPARABLE BECAUSE INDIA IS MIX OF PRIVATE AND PUBLIC. UK IS PUBLIC
H) and the ultimate irony....

A country whose PM and Royalty have got Corona, where actually

A PANDEMIC IS ABOUT TO KILL MILLIONS

Is criticising us?
