There is a fair bit of unease building among Tory MPs about PM trying to run the country + recover at same time - fear that if he doesn't take time to recover now he'll be ill for a lot longer - one says 'he might be ill for a month and that's a month the country can't afford'
Another, former cabinet minister says, 'I think it would be better for him to take time off properly and recover fully. I wonder why this is not the public approach'
Another MP says he should take some time, 'in the circumstances it wouldn't be weakness - we definitely need him back and on form'
But another Cab minister says decision making system is working fine, covid committee structure is working well with 'crisp' decision making - no need for a 'formal step back moment' unless PM becomes critically ill - No 10 tightlipped about exactly what is going on
