Its shocking how people want to rip Endeavor completely out of the story. He is a powerful character, and sheds light to the corruption within Hero society but also has a realistic take on how he’s handling his current decisions. He is an incredibly important character. +
Regardless of your hatred for the man you can’t deny that his character presence puts life into the storyline. He symbolises many blaring flaws of the Hero system. That not all these so called “heroes” are in it for saving others, but for their own greed and self-interest. +
However, we see Enji grow as a character AND a person as the story progresses and finally addresses the issues behind his actions and how it damaged his family. Its not perfect, with sunshine and rainbows where he rebonds with everyone, but it is realistic and believable. +
That is what does it for me. He accepts that he will probably never be forgiven, and understands that his children do not have to. He doesn’t pull the cliche act of an abusive parent doing one good deed and immediately being praised for it like a lot of stories tend to do. +
He faces the consequences head on and does not blame anyone else but himself. It does not excuse his actions, but I am able to respect him to a degree from his mere response to his predicament. So yeah, I like Endeavor. Get as mad as you want about it, that won’t change my mind.
