I struggle with our mixed messaging on joint loading and knee OA. Plenty of papers ( https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3444807/)">https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/artic... will advocate for weight loss because it might decrease joint loads and yet we are advocating for exercise in the attempt to increase joint loads. 1/
Further, that paper is odd. They conclude there is less compressive load on the knee after a 10% weight loss but there isn& #39;t. Its only less compared with the group that didn& #39;t lose weight. Not less at an individual pre-post level.

What am I missing here?
