Official CDC analysis of Diamond Princess Cruise Ship COVID-19 cases:

On board: 3,711 (all tested)
Tested positive: 712 (19.2%)
Asymptomatic: 331 (46.5%)
Symptomatic: 381
Required intensive care: 37 (5%)
Died: 9 (1.2% mortality rate)

Important to note: The Diamond Princes Cruise ship had an environment much more conducive to higher rates of transmission of contagions due to its close quarters, as well as a higher % of population most susceptible to infection with a higher mortality risk (elderly).
So let’s do some predictive modeling like the “experts.” If we take the current coronavirus cases in New York & cross reference using the Diamond Princess Cruise ship stats, we can have a better indication of how bad the situation actually is vs what we’re being told.
New York COVID-19 Cases as of April 6, 2020:

Tested Positive: 122,031
Deaths: 4,159

*We have to assume the tested positive # are the symptomatic cases, since that’s mainly the only people currently being tested.
On the cruise ship 53.5% of positive cases were symptomatic. That would mean we could predict that approximately 228,000 people in New York State are actually infected with coronavirus.
If the number of possible infections is 228,000 that would mean the mortality rate is (at the high end) 1.8%. If we want to predict how many are actually in intensive care & in need of ventilators, we would take the 5% rate from the cruise ship.
If there are 228,000 actual infections and 5% of those infected require intensive care, that would mean approximately 11,400 people in the state of New York might have required a ventilator.
One can assume that majority of deaths come from the 11,400 intensive care group, therefore fewer ventilators than 11,400 are actually being used at the exact same time. So why are they stealing ventilators from private hospitals, when they have 30,000-42,000 already available?
