Preparing for #RevPit in 7 Simple Steps

A thread 1/
Step 1 Pick your 2 editors and 1 alternate.
But how? Look at their wishlists at http://www.reviseresub.com/editors  to narrow it down.

From there, look at their answers to the questions and check out their Twitter feeds and websites to get an idea of what they're like. #RevPit 2/
Check out their #RevPit #AskEditor feed by searching Twitter.

For example, searching " @jenichappelle #RevPit #AskEditor" will show you mine.

If you still have other questions, feel free to ask! 3/
The alternate will only receive your sub if one of your first choices caps. There is a cap of 100 entries per editor, so if it's super important to get your first choices, plan to sub as early as possible. Several editors reach their cap every year. #RevPit 4/
Step 2 If you haven't, get fresh eyes on your query and 1st 5 pages, STAT. @QueryConnection is a great place for query feedback, and you might find someone you connect with there who'd look at your pages too. If you need someone to swap with, reply here & I'll boost! #RevPit 5/
Step 3 If you don't have a synopsis, write one. A lot of editors (including me) will request one with add'l materials, and that could happen as early as April 18

⭐BONUS!

Reach out to the community. Offer feedback to others, ask questions, play games. Engaging with other authors during events like this is a great way to find CPs and make other writing friends. #RevPit 12/
After you've done all this, if you have other #RevPit questions, feel free to reach out to me, @ReviseResub, or any of the other editors.

Have fun and good luck! I'm rooting for you!
