We explained, repeatedly, why Trump's character defect assured that no "pivoting" was possible, and he'd not listen to decent people but only those who are similarly disordered and/or flattered and obeyed him.

In 2016, the conditions were right for electing a narcissistic psychopath to presidency, and, unsurprisingly, such a character materialized by popular demand. Perhaps there was nothing that could have been done to prevent it. Perhaps we had to fulfill the fate in store for us.

We learn only thru suffering as only suffering -- if that -- can penetrate our narcissistic blindness. Sometimes we subconsciously invite difficult, even traumatizing factors into our lives to help us dismantle that blindness and allow us to see the truth about ourselves.

This is our shadow (and then some), trying to break through, wake us up, and teach us vital lessons about who we are. If we don't heed it, the lessons will repeat, with greater urgency and pain, until we finally see and learn. This is such a grand lesson, and how painful it is.
