THE ART OF COPY WRITING

Nope, not Copy right. Copy writing.
What is it?

According to wikipedia; it is the art and science of strategically delivering words (whether written or spoken) that get people to take some form of action.
It is a term popular in the marketing and advertising world. Copy writing (Copy for short) can be seen everywhere. In TV, Radio, Social Media and etc.

"Okay...but why should I care about this? How can I benefit by learning more about it? Where can I apply copy writing?"
Disclaimer: I am not an expert on the subject. This thread is purely done from research and life experience.
To answer the above question, copy writing is a marketable skill in areas of marketing, advertising and public relations. The concept can also be applied in some aspects of life such as story telling, public speaking and communications in general.
Copy writing can be broken down into 4 basic elements. It consists of:
1) Hook
2) Content
3) Call To Action
4) Urgency
1) HOOK

First impression matters. It matters especially if it can attract you. For text form, it may use a question. For a poster, it may use a bright colour. In a radio, the enthusiastic host may be the HOOK.

However, the real challenge is ....
....to keep the audience hooked to the message long enough that they understand it.

2) CONTENT

The content is the intended message. It should be simple, precise and most importantly easy to understand.
3) CALL TO ACTION (CTA)

The CTA is the specific instruction for the audience to follow. The action should be simple enough that the audience understand and can execute right away.

For example, "Like, share and subscribe", "Click the link", "Give a thumbs up".
4) URGENCY

The Urgency supplements the CTA for the audience to take action immediately. It gives the audience the need, must or necessity to act. One of the way is to use words like... "Now", "Easy","New","Free" and etc. You can search on "words & phrases that can covert"
That's the elements that make up a copy. The process of making the copy should follow that too.

Other than those elements, it is VERY IMPORTANT that both of the product and the copy is understood clearly. This is so the marketer can market the product effectively.
One of the objective of a copy is basically to deliver the message and make people do something with that information. Therefore, it is important to take note that CLARITY and CRITICALITY is POWER. You cant influence people without those powers.
