To give a bit of encouragement for the #NaturalHealthService challenge, I had a quick look in my garden and found a few of the most likely mosses you might find. First up is the springy turf moss (Rhytidiadelphus squarrosus), which is the main coloniser of lawns everywhere
Walls are a great habitat for mosses, two of the commonest species you& #39;ll find are wall screw-moss (Tortula muralis), on left with capsules well clear of cushion, and grey-cushioned Grimmia (Grimmia pulvinata), on right with capsules hardly clear of cushion #NaturalHealthService
Another good place to check for bryophytes is flowerbeds and veg patches, I have nothing very photogenic in mine, but if you& #39;re lucky you might find a hornwort or a beautiful liverwort in the genus Riccia (here& #39;s a hornwort from last summer) #NaturalHealthService
