It’s amazing to see @MSHSSurgery stepping up to fight #COVID19-
Surgeons from all specialities stepping out of their comfort zones to help in ERs and ICUs.

Not everything may be glorious work, but it is the work that is needed.
In addition to medical care, I’ve seen colleagues humbly helping transport pts, clean beds, make family phone calls, run blood to the lab, take vitals and give nursing report.

We are fortunate to have our office staff constantly working on replenishing our PPE so that our entire team is well protected during our deployments.

It’s been incredible to see the community step up in support. Small businesses, who must undoubtedly be hurting financially, endlessly donating food, water, and supplies every day. The garment district making surgical gowns. Thank you for your incredible generosity.

I see a lot of anger and fear on #SoMe about admin and politics, about doctors being expendable.
I understand the points and share some of those views. But (as long as sufficient PPE is provided), this is a time where healthcare professionals can really make a difference.

While I miss my vascular surgery practice and am praying for my patients to stay healthy, I am in awe of the healthcare workers responding to the call to help in a time of crisis. I am grateful to be able to serve alongside them.
