You know how I've been saying for the last few weeks as Covid-19 wreaks havoc that we need to psychologically prepare ourselves *now* for not being there when our beloved ones are in their last moments in hospital under lockdown?

(Thread)
I wasn't saying that so much for *their* sake.

I was saying it more for yours.

Our healthcare staff from this world are doing an incredible job - regardless of their faith - comforting the dying as best as possible in extreme circumstances.
Our support staff from the next world - our noble Angels - are doing an even better job, sitting with our dying one in numbers as far as the eye can see, holding a shroud and perfume from Paradise, as the Prophet (s) said.
They're not alone. Allah supports them like that. HE is Waliyy'l-Mu'mineen in their moment of need, and you wouldn't want anyone else. My tired eyes have seen much in their time, but they never tire from the iman rush of seeing someone in the "state of shahadah" in their death.
And as we washed a local Uncle yesterday who died of Covid-19, both of his hands were closed except for the shahadah finger on his right hand. What an incredible sight to behold, may Allah accept him. As I said, Allah supports the believers like that.
But you? You *will* be alone and regret that reality if you don't act now to heal all your rifts - because *all* of us have issues with our family, without exception - and we are *obligated* to deal with those in our lifetime in the best manner we can.
This is the area of "silat'l-rahim" and not studying and implementing it is from the major sins, let alone the physical and psychological consequences after bereavement if all family matters are not resolved as much as possible right now. Those include arguments...
...past abuse, clearing up financial matters, preparing a legal Will, deciding the Wasiyyah, and so much more.

Don't ignore this part of the crisis - this is part of our trial - to be reminded of obligations that we should be doing anyway in a state of normality...
...which have now through His Mercy been impressed upon us during a state of emergency that focuses the hearts and minds.

Please take this seriously and do all you can now to minimise regret later on.
