. @fshakir @PramilaJayapal I assume you’ll not hear me, but I urge you to reconsider your push for @BernieSanders to withdraw

I say this as someone who wants trump out above all, not just a Bernie supporter but if @JoeBiden wins the nomination then we are handing trump reelection
Bernie has one known terrible unforgivable weakness - the dreaded [flashlight below face/spooky voice] socialism

Oddly enough that’s the same weakness @HillaryClinton & @BarackObama & @BillClinton & Carter and every D since Roosevelt has had including Joe

It’s priced into the D
As @peterdaou can tell you, there is nothing else that trump can viably attack «crazy» Bernie on because he is such a good and decent and honorable man with a long track record of being on the right side of history before it was obviously the right side.
In contrast, @JoeBiden has a fatal flaw to neutralize every viable attack we can make against trump - and after the convention, those land mines will destroy Joe’s viability to the point where Ds will say he is «just as bad as trump» in the end as they did with Hillary.
trump is arguably the most corrupt president* in American history. One would certainly like to attack him on that, no ?

Do it with Joe and then «whatabout Hunter’s $50k/month job ?» kills any credibility we have with anyone remotely on the fence.
trump is an obscene and unabashed liar. One surely can attack him in that, no ?

Do it with Joe and then «whatabout plagerism taking him out of the 1988 race ?» «whatabout [clip of him brazenly lying in his debate with Bernie flashing to evidence they were bald faced lies] ?»
trump is horrible with women ! Pussy-grabbing, strong cases of alleged assault, and rape. Surely one can attack him there !

… but «whatabout Tara ?», «whatabout Anita Hill ?», «whatabout [video of weird touches with women flinching and wincing] ?»
trump is and always was a malignant racist. Housing discrimination, Central Park Five, «very fine people on both sides». We *must* be able to attack him there !

«Whatabout fighting bussing and integration ?», «whatabout being so chilly with segregationists ?»
I could go on but by now my point should be made clear - assuming that we all want to prevent trump’s re-election, nominating @JoeBiden is suicidal.
There is an oft repeated lie that « @BernieSanders has already lost !» but @NPR shows that is not true

Enough unallocated delegates remain for him to deny Joe a majority, for him to get a plurality, & even for him to go into the convention with a majority

https://www.npr.org/2020/02/10/799979293/how-many-delegates-do-the-2020-presidential-democratic-candidates-have
This primary is not over, and we need to fight for it with everything we have because the alternative and the most likely outcome at this point is that we nominate @JoeBiden and then he is destroyed by and loses to trump worse than @HillaryClinton lost in 2016.
We may all be surrounded by people who hate trump and want him out, but this should horrify us all - this crises of his own creation has brought his favorability up markedly.

Joe has record low enthusiasm while trump’s is already soaring.

So with everything I have and my strongest words I implore you - if you want to avoid trump’s re-election, we must avoid Biden’s nomination at any cost.
