Throughout my life and career I have searched for this intangible feeling in all organizations and groups I have been a part of it. I haven’t always found it, but continued to gravitate toward that feeling. That intangible has equated to success and happiness where it has existed
Finding it is like catching lightning in a jar. As I grow older and “wiser” I have learned this feeling relates to culture. It has been built and grown with an open and transparent nature that encourages collaboration.
Those trademarks are foundational, but the feeling is still indescribable. This feeling is both nurtured and earned, yet larger than any individual in these groups and organizations I have been in. It is the sum off all the parts.
My life has been a series of journeys that culminated to my current path and I am very confident and secure in the man I have become today from my failures and successes of yesterday. The one constant in my journey has been the search for this intangible.
Many organizations preach “culture,” but most do not live it. Many try to build it, yet fail. Some have aspects of it, but no the whole thing. It takes the right people, leadership and mindset to pull it off and make it effortless.
I plan to always be on a search for this intangible in my life. It evolves with me. I believe I have found it in my professional career by joining an organization of like-minded individuals that seem to have been on the same path and search.
When you find a group like that it is special. As a whole, you can accomplish special things. You must continue to nurture and guard that culture to ensure that intangible remains. None of this is earned or fabricated. It takes the right mix being drawn together. Then you have it
Proud to have found my place as I chase this intangible. Proud to be part of this culture. Proud to be a Red Hatter.
