Since 1977, in some instances, the government of #Cameroon has not accounted for over 50% of oil revenues. Between 1977 and 2006, Cameroon generated $42B in combined revenue from oil sales ($19.8B) & from oil royalties ($27B).
About 50% is now unaccounted for. Since 1960, 63% of industrial investments involving state capital participation in #Cameroon have gone bankrupt (36%) or been privatized (27%).

Ruminate (and try not to have a headache) on that.
When I say I am disappointed (to put it mildly) at the government of #Cameroon's response to #covid19cmr, it is for reasons such as this.

They can do what is NECESSARY to save lives AND they can provide stimulus packages & relief to the most needy.

They are not.

Why?!!!
Messages from govSt leaders & agencies are confusing at best, non-existent at worse. When other nations are carrying out local research, the Ministry of Scientific Research's website http://minresi.cm  was last updated Dec 2019.

The shocking thing? It's not even shocking.
Some will come to this thread and try to guilt trip me with that: "they are trying... now is not the time for finger pointing yenyenyen", but I am not having it.

You know why? My voice counts

You do not TRY when it comes to saving lives. You go ALL out. Quickly.

#covid19cmr
Our government leaders have for donkey years, done more not accounting for state funds than actually developing industry, building the economy & empowering citizens with quality of life.

It's hitting home now that we have a pandemic on our hands.

In fact, it's double jeopardy.
