I'm sure Paine said politicians should not get paid, only expenses, and they should only be allowed to serve for 1 year. I think maybe we should get rid of MP's wages?

Would you serve 1 year as an MP, for your basic income, and just manage on your meagre ~ÂŁ100K a year expenses?
I would view it as serving my country. I would be happy to give 1 year of my time out of my entire life to help try to make a difference in society and make things better. I have done a lot of unpaid volunteering, people who volunteer, do it for love, not money, and work better
Government should be run like a charity, not a business.
I could volunteer to replace Jess Phillips MP, her office is only a short walk down the road, she's crap, I'd do a much better job than her and we'd save on having to pay her wages.
I could challenge her to an IQ test, a typing test, a computer skills test, and a general knowledge test, when I destroy her on all 4 tests, which I will, she can pack her bags, and her secretary, and do one.
It would certainly get the pigs noses out of the trough.
