Robson moved to @ManUtd in 1981, where he became the longest serving captain in the club's history and won two Premier League crowns, three FA Cups, two FA Charity Shields and a European Cup Winners' Cup.

The man, the legend, and overall inspiration for many that play the game today. As the great Sir Alex said: “When the going got tough he'd be there. He'd let his players know if they weren't doing their jobs and his will to win was way above most.” Yes he was a legend to us all.i

Robson is also known by the nicknames "Robbo" and "Captain Marvel". Bobby Robson stated that Robson was, along with Alan Shearer and Kevin Beattie, the best British player he ever worked with. Now a global ambassador for the club.

Robson moved to United for a British record transfer fee of £1.5 million on 1 October 1981 and signed the contract on the Old Trafford pitch two days later before a game against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Over the years Robson had much success at United with winning cups and trophies galore and captaining the club side to many too, from FA Cup triumphs, Cup Winners Cups and League Titles, to breaking personal records as an English player too over the years.

Many I personal accolades including PFA Team of the Year six times, PFA Team of the Century in 1977-1996, 2007, First Goal of the Season in 1985-86 and finally Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year 1988-89.

In 1998 he was named in the list of Football League 100 Legends. Also, being inducted into the Football Hall Of Fame in 2002. He was finally awarded the title of OBE in January 1990 New Years Honours.
