REMEMBER TEDDY BOYS AND GIRLS?

"Petticoats and pencil skirts, black ones with a split up the back, or up the side if you're a teddy girl. One week you’d go in a dress with petticoats underneath and the next if you fancied a lad, you’d think ‘oh he’s a teddy boy’, so I’d go in my slimline skirt..." 2/4
“Looking back now some of the skirts I went in! It took me all me time to walk never mind dance! In fact, when they had trams I used to have to walk up sideways because I couldn’t get my legs [through], I used to have to go sideways to get up to the top deck." 3/4
“No alcohol... no fights with the lads or anything like that... it was just nice, just getting up the stairs onto the balcony and watching other people dance. Seven until midnight and then it were everybody walking either home or one thing or another …” #morethanapool 4/4
