Increasingly clear to me that your average American thinks things will be fine by summer or soon after...

Honestly quite surprised how completely ill-prepared everyone I know is for life as we know it to continue changing completely for the foreseeable future

The “this is just a couple months interruption” mood may be protective to some, I guess? Feels psychologically healthier to me to accept world-as-we-know-it-is-over fate now, then be pleasantly surprised should I be wrong

But y’all: everything is going to be different for a long long long long time and I’d like to gently suggest you start internalizing that

No one’s going on that beach vacation in June. That July. Wedding will be canceled. No one’s coming to your conference in August. Etc.

Praying you can all point back to this thread and laugh at me for getting it so wrong
