So this thread I’ll be focusing on foods & herbs to incorporate to keep your immune system boosted & I’ve focused a lot on herbs that are good for respiratory conditions, which is useful in relation to COVID-19.
Ginger - Anti inflammatory, eases nausea & vomiting ( safe in pregnancy). Helps to relieve pain & very good at soothing digestion. It fights flu & improves blood circulation preventing stagnation. Easy ways to incorporate it is in cooking, adding it to your juices also.
Garlic - my personal fave. Anti fungal, anti viral & anti bacterial. Easy ways to incorporate it daily into your life, cooking with garlic - I use garlic in EVERYTHING I cook. It can also have an affect on blood pressure by lowering it.
Elderberries boost our immune system. It’s really good when you feel flu symptoms coming on in the early stages. There are various ways you can consume it, I take it in syrup form but you can get it in lozenges also. I take elderberry daily. Can be purchased at health food shops.
Irish Sea moss, is an algae & contains 92 of the 102 minerals that we need. It’s a powerhouse. Supports healthy heart, digestion & immune system. It can be used topically aswell on skin. Sea moss is good in smoothies. It removes mucus from the body which is useful with COVID-19.
Burdock root - I’m taking daily ! Fights infection & is a blood cleanser / purifier. It can be consumed in capsule form or tincture. It is used in respiratory & lung ailments ! Another benefit is that it’s good for skin conditions like eczema.
Turmeric - Anti inflammatory, anti oxidant & immune boosting. This is a good powerhouse, be sure if you’re using it in cooking to add black pepper to activate the curcumin in it.

Oil of oregano - It can be used in a diffuser, orally, or diluted & applied topically on the skin. It is fantastic at relieving symptoms of respiratory ailments, it’s protects against anti viral & anti fungal infections. Especially with COVID-19 this is good to have in the house.
Morninga- Personal favourite & very popular in Uganda
I use it in its powder form, seeds & in tea also. Morninga is an immunity booster, detoxifies the body, anti inflammatory & anti fungal ( good for skin & hair too).

Thyme - Is useful in respiratory ailments, boosts the immune system and is anti fungal. Try to incorporate some thyme into one of your meals daily. Or get some thyme essential oil & diffuse it.
Eucalyptus- Anti inflammatory & great for the respiratory system. Steaming with eucalyptus is ideal or diffusing it for an hour. Getting some eucalyptus plants & hanging it in the shower is a very very good way to benefit everyone in the household.
