Everytime someone talks about feminism as if it is some imported western concept, I laugh because Ijaw women have been feminist before Western women knew they should have rights.

At some point, Ijaw women were known to not stay married to one man simply because they wouldn't put up with bad marriages. If an Ijaw woman is unhappy and her man isn't willing to change, she'll leave. Anyone who knows Ijaw women would know this.
