scenario: steven settles down in a new town for a bit and applies for a job at a garden shop. he doesn't get called back and he talks to connie about it and tells her he put magic powers as skills on his resume and shes like "they probably thought it was a prank"

he goes in and is like "hi i dropped my application off here a little while ago, i just wanted to follow up on that, and also" then he revives a plant in front of their eyes and picks up a massive pallet of top soil with no effort and they're like ".....so, when can you start?"

he's not that great at the register because he's awful at math (the boy never went to school) but he happily does all the heavy lifting and floating to high shelves and every plant in the shop is thriving ever since he arrived

his coworkers are like "you have super strength and you can fly?? and plant powers? why are you working here? why aren't you like. saving the world or something"

and he's like "oh, i kind of already did that when i was 14, haha. taking a few years off for mental health"

i kept thinking ab this and wanted to challenge myself to draw in the show's style. thanks everyone who voted he'd be tall since i already had this sketch mostly done lol

no flip flops because open toed shoes are dangerous when you work in a nursery around sharp garden tools and heavy pots!!!!!!!

listening to that "steven beats himself up for nearly 20 minutes" video while i drew this
