I actually hate how slow and tedious Animal Crossing: New Horizons is, but I still log in every day and spend an hour getting equally frustrated at how fundamentally slow and laborious it is.

Why?

OMG paid 198,000 bells for a house upgrade yesterday. Expected new rooms and floor plan. Logged in today and got an extra blocks worth of space around each side.

It will take months to pay that off. So ridiculous! I genuinely dislike this game immensely!

Add to this, the biggest thing in the way of me progressing is getting 30 iron to open the shop on the island. It's taken 4 days and so far I only have 16pieces of iron. There are never any rocks on my island and when they appear I get coins and eggs! It sucks!!!

And this isn't 4 "game days" like an hour or two. This is 4 REAL LIFE days!!! It's crazy

Half of my island is still inaccessible as I can't learn to make a ladder or bridges yet, so it's a complete waste of Nook Miles traveling to other islands that I can only access parts of....

Why does anyone enjoy this? What am I missing?

Even Oliver is bored to death by it all. Who is this for???

And don't get me started on having to click through the same lines of dialogue over and over and over. Every time you add something to the museum or sell to the Nooks, it's just the same slow awkward pages and pages of text. Didn't games get passed this about 10 years ago?

It would be so easy to make this game enjoyable to the majority... Literally just cut out the celebration text every time you do anything, the pointless "should I craft something" dialogue when you clearly want to use the crafting bench, the dialogue in the shops and museums...

...and just all of the repetitive, pointless, I've seen it a million times, actions and text that serves no purpose after the 1st time you already saw it.

Oh great I dug up a fossil! Now I need to spend 10 minutes spamming the B button as Blathers tells me he's asleep, asks what I want, asks to assess it, asks me if I want to donate it via 4 pages of dialogue then ask me if I want a "short" lesson about what it is.

JUST TAKE IT!

Done the rounds on my island. There was one rock I could access. I got 4 coins and a bag of bells from it. No iron... Guess I'll try again tomorrow. Should have this shop open in about a month if I'm lucky!
