There won't be prophylactic treatments by the fall. There might be curative treatments for bad cases. On and off lock down, social distancing and local flare ups will persist until there is a widely distributed vaccine or until we achieve herd immunity by living with the virus.

You can't rush a vaccine because if you fuck up the testing the consequences are incalculable. Hardships are here to stay for a while. We will have to learn and adapt.
