for me, it's weed and personal therapy or it's psych meds so ... i have come to accept that this path i'm on is also about combating the stigma of people wanting to be spiritual without giving reverence to how the spiritual manifests in the body. there is a lot of shame ...
and i never know how to talk about it because people are very closed minded and our health system isolates the symptom from the person and detaches the spirit from the psyche as is psyche doesn't mean spirit ...
and that cuts a lot of people off from their full potential as a person and learning how to work within the natural boundaries of having a mental uniqueness. (i don't like saying mental illness).
it's difficult to talk about because people have no idea how drastic changes in mental patterns can be the result of very severe trauma. it's not as simple as reciting affirmations and wishing it away or meditating it away. it's rooted in the physical at this point.
everyone wants to claim they're a shaman without accepting that the shaman is "schizophrenic" in western society. there are dozens of works on this very topic.
