i hate that i’m exposing my secret but i’d rather help the masses. as someone who has tried to get a nintendo switch for the past week and had no luck / got robbed by best buy, here’s a thread of some info to help you out:
target is absolutely your best bet at this point if you are in the U.S. from what i have heard. after speaking to target employees and their corporate office, they get shipments at least twice a week of switches. for each location is seems to be different, mine is M & W
what i was told to do was call target during their hours for elderly people to shop (8am-9am), ask if they are in stock. then show up for when they open to the public at 9 if they are and basically sprint to get one. they cant claim them for you or put them aside
BEST BUY IS FULL OF SHIT. do not order from them even if they say theyre available in a store near you. me and countless others have done that just to wait a week and be told “shipment delayed” and cancelled. the person i spoke to from best buy said they haven’t received -
shipments of switches in at least two weeks, and a few stores even said they haven’t received shipment of ANYTHING in weeks. covid-19 is hitting best buy hard and their “stock” is unreliable. if that changes ill update this thread
finally, those websites that show when switches are in stock on every website are not super reliable. the notifications dont really work (i tried to get email and text notifications and the text only worked sometimes) so dont rely on them. the website updates every minute and -
usually by the time it updates they sell out (seeing as they sell out in less than a minute at this point). honestly i wouldnt rely on online ordering for switches. im not saying to go out searching (stay inside) but call stores. they can check in person
