Interesting to think what the economic response under previous PM would have been... my thoughts:
Rudd would have done much the same, though his press conferences would have had much (much!) more detail, including info about the mutations of the virus, a brief foray into Chinese history, talk about smallpox eradication...

The Libs would have complained about debt and deficit
Gillard would have done much the same, though News.corp would have said she showed too much emotion, not enough sadness, too little feeling, not enough stoicism, and that her hair really could do with a make-over.

Abbott would have done much the same, but he would have blamed the ALP for it, the national cabinet would have lasted a day before he destroyed it with attempts to wedge the ALP.
He would have kept parliament running so he could blame the ALP for it during condolence motions
Turnbull would have done much the same, but he would have been much more Churchillian: "As did the Greeks under Pericles in the Peloponnesian War, let us face our enemy together with..."

He would be rolled as leader because most of the Libs would complain about debt and deficit
