Thread: Stumbled across game developer @SpaceBackyard

Formed in 2016, they've released 3 narrative games + a teaser and ... WOW!!! All of them are incredibly stylish, feature vibrant atmospheres, and have unusual interactivity. Haven't been this surprised since @superbrothersHQ
2017. The Revolutionary Watermelon
Created for "The World's First Watermelon Game Jam" at A MAZE 2017. The game's somehow outshone its watermelon controller (players slapped the watermelon).

2017. Statues
Created for Ludum Dare 40. Short but unforgettable (especially the audio interactivity). You'll play twice with no regrets. The name impedes YouTube discovery, so just play it. You can download for free, but definitely worth a few dollars.

2017. Like roots in the soil
The minimalist graphics and graceful palette take a back seat to the overlapping cameras (never seen that before). The impenetrable writing and haunting "dual" soundtrack will grip you until the end (wait for it). Stops when everything starts.
2019. Bird Of Passage
(full game 2020) An impossibly tiny setting - camera distantly following a cab in darkness - effortlessly holding your attention. Quick conversations, otherworldly reflections, and beating ethereal soundtrack (shades of Wendy Carlos). Starts IMMEDIATELY.
(future) Ludmilla
"in 1961, a Russian capsule set down on a strange land" An idea percolating since this ominous 2017 teaser (Pixar Artistry + Eraserhead soundtrack). https://vimeo.com/210607341
Everything they've done (including their website which gave me most of this info) is surprisingly assured and truly inspiring. Of course, the real point of this thread is to prove "I liked them before they were popular." Mark my words. https://www.thespacebackyard.com/
