I’m not sure how to get this news out to doctors & scientists but they’re treating patients with #COVID19 as pneumonia w ventilators. It could be treated as high altitude sickness. They need oxygen & a steroid. Ventilators are causing more harm. #COVID19 is causing HAPE not ARDS.

Could we be mistreating this virus as a pneumonia instead of high altitude sickness? Should we be treating HAPE (High Altitude Pulmonary Edema) instead of ARDS (Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome)?

With HAPE you are still at risk of dying. However you’re treatment would differ. HAPE symptoms come on rapidly usually within 12-24 hours, you usually suffer from headaches, cough and shortness of breath. An X-ray would show fluid in your lungs.

If you suffer from HAPE doctors usually treat it with supplemental oxygen and a steroid called dexamethasone. Not ventilators! Patients would need OXYGEN NOT PRESSURE!!! The ventilators may be causing lung damage because of PRESSURE.

Having certain illnesses like diabetes or lung disease doesn’t automatically make you more likely to develop altitude sickness which would explain why healthy people are affected by COVID-19 as well.
Totally different treatment from pneumonia & what the current protocol is now.
