list of stories i want to make: a thread

i constantly think about writing mlm romances. werewolf/vampire boyfriends. a prince who is kidnapped by a dragon and they fall in love. a shadowey monster under the bed who holds their persons hand before they fall asleep. etc, etc. i am a gay man and i love other gay men

uhm. ive wanted to branch into horror for a long time but i just dont have the tools to do so... my art is so cutesy and cartoonish. horror also doesnt work as well when dealing with furries imo? like, having furries as characters kind of absracts the universe and it immediately

feels less "real". horror is best when it is grounded in the real world, i think? its hard to articulate. while working on my story, Otherside, early in development there was an episode planned where the protag got stuck in the otherside and it was meant to be very horror-based

here r some concepts i did for that episode..... i took a lot of inspiration from the poster artwork of The Thing when designing these guys, but ultimately i dont really think people would find them scary

some horror story ideas i would love to play with:
-the paranoia and genuine fear that comes from distrusting your government. i frequently think about mk ultra and how genuinely fucked up that was and how The Public Was Never Meant To Know About That

but that paranoia is hard to depict in media in a genuinely scary way. one of my ocs started out as a protagonist for that story
- the backrooms sort of story? someone just....trapped in some pocket dimension of uncanny rooms and enclosed spaces. wandering. ambient

- plenty of other themes i have considered working with. a horror story in which our cruel god manifests themself as an entity within our world. etc. iidk i cant think right now i lost that train of thot and i will likely delete this thread l8r anyways nobody reads these
