I've become the data base of #ACNH between my friends and don't want to repeat myself 7 million times so here'sa guide: How to make you villagers leave / move out.
#AnimalCrossing #NintendoSwitch
First, how to know when a villager is THINKING to move out.

They'll have a thought bubble above their head. Though it doesn't guarantee it'll be about moving.

The bubble could also mean that they have a gift to give you, something to sell, something they want etc. Talk to them!
So they want to move. Congrats.

Day of, they'll wander around as usual.
☆☆Next day, (Day 1) They will be in their house, surrounded by boxes. Ready to say their last goodbyes.
Day after, (Day 2) they will have left! The plot stays but their house will be gone.
☆☆ Importance!
If you want to trade villagers, you must have the new Rep talk to them during this stage! Day 1 is called "in boxes" and you'll probably see other traders call it this. This is the MOST IMPORTANT stage for trading. Talk to the villager UNTIL they AGREE to come!!
Now. How to GET them to move.

RT players first.

1. Natural process, just play as usual and someone of your town will want to leave eventually. It's a bit random on who the game chooses but just play as normal. Talk to everyone you see with a bubble!
2. Best friend the shit out of them. They'll eventually feel like they've outgrown your island and want to move. Just give them positive interactions such as gifts or letters and helping w requests daily. (Around 1-2 weeks to become BFFs)
How to know if you're BFFs?
They'll start to give you nicknames and gifts randomly or letters weekly. You can even change their catchphrases at this stage. (There's even a NM task of getting 3 BFFs on the island. I forgot how many miles it gives tho tbh)
3. Ignore them for 2 weeks. Do not have ANY interactions with them. This includes hitting them, entering their house, reporting them, tasks for them, and simply talking to them. If you HATE your villager, this is probably best for you. Keep a distant eye on them for the bubble!
For my TT friends. Hello.

This is a weirder process.
S1. Talk to any villagers for 3 days.
S2. Skip ahead 2 weeks.
If you skip ahead into an event/rain, skip an extra day. You're not likely to find bubbles during these times.
S3. Look for any bubbles.
S3a. Stay in the day for about 4-8 mins if you cant find any. (There will be no bubbles inside houses. All outside.)
S3b. If no bubbles found, skip another day.
S4. Talk to any villagers with bubbles if they want to move.
S5. If yes, yay! Skip 1 for trade or 2 for their leave.
S6. If they don't want to leave, revert back to og day or stay same day and do steps again.

Keep in mind that who the game chooses is a little random so it may take a few tries for any of these methods.
Some myths...

You need MAX (10) villagers for them to start considering leaving.
Not true.

You need above MIN (6) villagers for them to start leaving.
Also not true. (Though may take a bit more work if under the min.)
Some notes..

- it's okay to talk to a villager if they ping you during any of these methods.

- the newest villager is least likely to leave.

- TT has no major punishments aside from going forward: weeds.. and going backwards: turnips rot.

- save your game!!
I think this is all for now. Now stopping asking me or I will send you this thread and fight you. Ty and ily
