I don’t know if the goons running our country have financial interests in hydroxychloroquine or not, but it wouldn’t surprise me. Here’s what I do see, in their tactics and how it’s translating into the online behavior of their acolytes...

By harping on this drug and setting it up as a miracle cure, they can blame doctors and hospitals and local/state governments. When people die, they will say “but did you give them hydroxychloroquine? I bet you didn’t give it to them, and if you did, they’d have lived”

That way it’s not that there’s a disastrous shortfall of ventilators they should have worked to prevent months ago. It’s not the lack of PPE. It’s that those damn doctors won’t listen and try the miracle drug (spoiler: it won’t actually matter to the narrative if they did try it)

Go look around. In every thread that’s gotten any traction, from someone talking about their own experience being sick, or even talking about someone they loved dying, there will be a MAGA chud replying “did you try hydroxychloroquine?”
