Two weeks ago when I was gasping for air due to #COVID19 a male relative was afraid to approach me. He’s a tall strong man with what used to be a lackadaisical attitude to seasonal flus and colds. Good he didn’t want to come near me /drive me to a hospital, I applaud that… 1/3
But, my my question is: if your relatives refuse to go near you, who will risk it? The answer is: healthcare workers. They risk it, and they have families like you or me. And we’re not protecting them in any way. Unless this changes, the system will fall miserably, and fast. 2/3
They’re already getting sick. This isn’t China, there’s no government suppression of news on that subject. We need to do better or else I don’t know who will take care of the sick, especially when the caregivers are getting sick and becoming caretakers themselves. 3/3
