HOW 5 SECONDS OF SUMMER AND THEIR ALBUM CALM HAS BEEN SABOTAGED, A THREAD.

CALM was released on 27th March, as the 4th album studio by 5SOS. There were so much expectations for the album to get the #1 on BB Charts in its debut week because of the success of their previous singles and their record of debuting at #1 streak with their albums in US.

But things happened… three days after CALM released, the 5SOS acc posted in all their social medias this photo, explaining that has been a “clerical error” (from Ticket Master and iTunes): 10k copies of their album were leaked one hour before it was supposed to.

This fact made the album debut a week before, getting the #62 on Billboard Charts, and loosing their album streak.
An interesting thing is that this shit happened to other artists, like Harry Styles, Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande, but… did it ruin their debut week? NO.

The reason: on 5th February, 5SOS informed the CALM and a new single release: NO SHAME music video, leaked two days later, it wasn’t a normal or comercial single, it had so much importance to them and their career.

Why? No Shame talks about the toxicity of fame, and most important, how the whole music industry is fuck*d up, showing and exposing how they really are under all the lies. The video didn’t have so much promo AT ALL, and the label didn’t send it to radios..

so No Shame MV wasn’t popular as their previous singles. We can know that No Shame is so much important to 5SOS because it’s the OFFICIAL single, they called the tour as the song, and in a recent Q&A they said it’s the best CALM song.

Now let’s talk about some weird things: there were people said they wanted to buy the album on iTunes, but it couldn’t be added (??), also there are people that don’t have their PRE-ORDERED album copies yet (do u remember the 10k album copies?) ...

And Spotify streams: a lot of famous artists supported them with tweets/stories, we have been supported by a lot of fandoms that helped us streaming and we made a lot of projects and listening parties EVERYDAY… And the streams just stayed in the same (???)

But then we knew the reason… midweek, 5SOS was #2 behind The Weekend (#1) FOR 10K! that was so obvious… however we kept streaming and more than ever. Also they liked that tweet, so...

Yesterday, we saw that CALM was going to be #2 so all the fam started using #BillboardCountThe10K that was trending WW with over 400k tweets & mentions @ billboard, we sent them emails, also there was a petition signed by 16k people, and famous magazines wrote about it.

So today the BB Charts were posted, and, no one was surprised, CALM as #2, and After Hours #1 for the SECOND week… We made #BillboardIncludeThe10K trending WW again, and the Billboard acc was blocking 5sos stans, also they removed the section 'contact me', can u believe?

If u want to help, pls rt/send this thread to other people, make this viral, 5sos can still be #1, because as I said, this happened to other artists and then they were #1 because of complaints, Billboard's a big company but they care about reputation.
