We need a plan for how we& #39;re going to reopen businesses across our city and country. Having a plan does not mean we& #39;re not taking Covid-19 seriously now. Having a plan is necessary, my Monday @nypost column: https://nypost.com/2020/04/05/its-time-to-figure-out-which-businesses-can-reopen-first-and-how/">https://nypost.com/2020/04/0...
I was afraid to write this article! Every IG post of ppl outside includes "STAY HOME" comments, every conversation about what comes next is met with accusations of Covid-trutherism. But we need to collectively face some facts that we won& #39;t simply flip an "open" sign one day.
Some businesses will be open before others even, as I note in the column, those in the same field. Some can maybe even opener sooner than we think. We need a mechanism for people to pitch their case of why they can open, what precautions they will take, how they will function.
Also, seriously, stop judging&saying it& #39;s too soon for a plan. "It’s hard not to notice that many of the people shrieking & shaming are still employed. What about all the people who don’t have any money coming in for their families? We need to figure out the path back for them."
