an in depth look at yeojin's kiss later (thread)

the canon lore for yeojin only states that she was "lost in the forest." this is thought to be a lore explanation for why she didnt participate in loona 1/3, but this is actually a large chapter of the loonaverse.

i believe that the forest yeojin gets lost in is the forest in eden that we see in love4eva. this forest is where yves leads the rest of yyxy to obtain the knowledge of earth and the rest of the loona girls.

because yeojin is not from eden, she experiences her time there as a distorted dream where she has visions of the rest of loona. there are many inconsistencies that would imply she is in a dream in kiss later, such as things disappearing and moving between shots.

the forest is where yves obtains her knowledge of earth and the other loona girls that are all trying to unite. symbols of all 3 units can be found in kiss later:

loona 1/3:
the manga prince on the wall is a reference to the manga shown in edily.

the city skyline is a symbol used in many loona mvs to represent earth. it being shown outside the window can also be representing that yeojin is separated from earth because she is lost in eden.

the stickers on the refrigerator show paris (heejin's location) and london (where the carol was filmed).

yeojin turns on a vintage tv like in love cherry motion and reveal teaser

we see the frog upside down and a small round mirror, both symbols of choerry

yeojin even has her own fruit like the yyxy members: an orange.

yeojin wanders off into the forest of eden and obtains the knowledge of the rest of the loona girls in her dreams. but aside from the symbols, the plot of the kiss later mv shows yeojin being pursued by a frog. this frog is yves !

in yeojin's dream, yves is interpreted as the frog because yeojin has dreamt herself to be a princess. these events are obscured similarly to how vivi's interaction with yves in new is obscured by vivi and shown in edily.
