The Covid select committee is being hosted on Zoom. There is no good reason for Simon Bridges to drive from Tauranga to Wellington to chair it.

If he just wants to have a select committee room as his background there's a setting on Zoom that lets him do that from home.

What’s worse, I understand at one of the meetings Bridges, Reti, and Upston were all in the same room at Parliament together, alongside committee staff who had to be there because of the in-person presence of members. Why can’t they just Zoom from home?

See? You can just add your own background and it looks like you're at Parliament. You don't have to actually drive there from Tauranga.
