#StarWarsSunday for my final figure review from The Empire Strikes Back, the only competent military officer in Darth Vader's fleet. Because he didn't get Force choked: General Veers! https://jedibusiness.com/figureDetails.aspx?id=1840
Quick bio, Veers led the Imperial ground assault on the Hoth Rebel Base, and took out the shield generator enabling Vader to land. Veers led the assault from an AT-AT.
This figure is fairly tall, and is one of the tallest Imperial character action figure. Only Vader is taller than Veers. Veers sports 12 POA: head, 2 swivel arms and legs, 2 swivel elbows and boots, waist, and 2 swivel wrists.
The paint and sculpt are excellent. You can tell with the head sculpt that this is Veers, the likeness to the actor is impressive. The paint on the uniform and rank isignia is also well done.
Like his Rebel counterpart, Veers comes with great accessories. Veers comes with a blaster, plus the helmet and chest armor he wears in the walker. So you can put Veers as he appeared on the Executor or the walker.
However, putting him in the walker may be a challenge. The lower skirt is plastic, so seating Veers may be difficult in the AT-AT. Also, his arms have a wide sculpt, probably b/c they thought snapping the armor on and off could be a problem.
But the armor is easily taken on and off. Veers wears a non removable cap, which doesn't affect how the helmet fits, in fact IMO it actually helps the helmet fit better. Plus you don't have to worry about losing the hat. The blaster fits well in his right hand and holster.
Sadly, this is the only modern 3.75 Veers. In 1980, he was used as the Imperial Officer, as it is Veers on the card, but it isn't named Veers. There was an AT-AT Commander made for the VC, but it isn't Veers. He got a 6 inch Black Series figure last year.
So far there are no plans to do another Veers. Until they do, this one is definitive. Not a bad figure, but needs some work. End thread.
