Often people forget journalists are also first responders. They are at the frontline to bring you information needed to battle with the pandemic. Many of them don& #39;t have good insurance, are underpaid, and with no PPE. Yet they go out everyday to tell you what& #39;s happening.
It is indeed a privilege to & #39;turn off& #39; social media, to & #39;take a break from news& #39;, or to & #39;look away for a bit.& #39; Staff journalists and editors have very little options. Everything is covid news. Independent journalists are making daily decision between danger and no money for food.
If you are a #COVID19Pandemic news consumer, and if you have the privilege, pay for a news subscription from your local paper, make a donation to your local radio station, and consider to donate to a journalism relief fund. Help them. They are there so you can stay informed!
