Senator Miville-Dechêne: ...”Why 14 days without any income when we know that, ...self-employed workers might have all kinds of different contracts? You’re setting the bar very high. These individuals can’t have an income of $20 or $40 a week if they want to get these benefits.”
Senator Miville-Dechêne: “If they have any revenues, they will not be able to access the help... a really high threshold for those workers... because they have many contracts. They can have a contract going on, which is really small, but may have lost their bigger contract.”

@Bill_Morneau & @JustinTrudeau will force the gig economy underground. That means no HST collection & remittance, cash gigs and loss of income tax revenue. Is that what they want?
So hypothetically: if an artist has lost 4 contracts due to COVID-19 but has retained 1 contract, they have to voluntarily cancel that remaining contract to qualify for the CERB? @Bill_Morneau @TimLouisKitCon @BardishKW @RajSaini4KitCen
And when the 16-week CERB period is up and they are fully unemployed, having burned all their contracts, what then would you have them do? Apply for EI that they don’t qualify for? @Bill_Morneau @TimLouisKitCon @BardishKW @RajSaini4KitCen
