So I'm pretty upset. Just got the 3rd email from our 3rd landlord for Wrecking Ball Coffee and 3 for 3, all three say they're willing to let us pay half the rent each month and then pay them the rest we owe over a period of months after this is over. They think this is generous.
We will never be made whole, but they expect to be made whole. This pandemic is happening to everyone, but they're guaranteeing that they will not suffer any negative financial consequences to their real estate investments.

I'm disgusted. Truly sick to my stomach.
I realize that people invest in real estate because they want something more stable, less volatile, less exposed to wild fluctuations or failure rates like investing in a business would be. But these people need to wake the fuck up and look around and realize what's happening.
Deciding that you will not suffer losses & push all losses to everyone else but you is selfish and evil. This is a millionaire-version of the billionaire plutocrat bullshit that @AnandWrites articulates so well.
I'm sure these landlords are proudly donating to relief charities.
I'm not going to forget this. I will acquire more power and influence than I already have and I will fight for equity and fairness for those people I have power over, and I will inflict justice and payback to those who have shown they're owed it. Yeah, I'm angry.
There's one glaring bit of legal recourse that every landlord should be terrified of: quiet enjoyment. Pretty much every lease includes a "quiet enjoyment" clause.

Hey lawyers, get your shit together and create a national "quiet enjoyment clause default" lawsuit movement.
