Getting ready to sign out. Here is my good news:

Extubated my VV-ECMO patient today and that was the biggest win of this week.
Extubated two other patients also and they remain extubated as I am leaving.
As I finish my first week of COVID ICU here are a few thoughts:
- It takes a team of doctors, nurses, respiratory therapists, PA/NPs, pharmacists (if I forgot anyone plz forgive me). It literally takes a village
- This week was physically & emotionally exhausting. The wins were great and the losses extremely painful. There is nothing harder than watching a patient die without their loved ones.
- This week was longer than my entire CCM fellowship year
- Please stay home! For your own sake and that of ours.
- I have never been more proud of being an ICU doctor and have never been prouder of my team
Thanks to all of you for cheering us on, for your kind comments, and for the support. Twitter became a major part of my emotional support this week. I’m off for the next 4 days and am not planning on doing anything COVID related & hanging w/
