Since we’re trying to be solutions-oriented in the face of 10.4 million Americans filing for unemployment in March, let’s look at these stats from OxFam International ( @Oxfam)’s 2017 & 2020 reports... (1/4)
• In 2016, 8 men owned the same wealth as the 3.6 billion people who make up the poorest half of humanity.
• In 2019, the world’s 2,153 billionaires had more wealth than 4.6 billion people.
• The world’s richest 1% have more than 2x as much wealth as 6.9 billion people. (2/4)
• Taxing an additional 0.5% of the wealth of the richest 1% over the next 10 years is equal to investments needed to create 117 million jobs in education, health and elderly care and other sectors, and to close care deficits. (3/4)
...meanwhile, we’re fighting over who’s eligible for unemployment and stimulus checks, and whether or not we’ll owe money in future taxes.

These @Oxfam stats show us that we’ve got solutions that people in power aren’t willing to explore. (4/4)
