THREAD

1/ There is talk that China is back to normal.

"There is light at the end of the tunnel. The US now knows what is to come."

I find this odd as when we take a look at Wuhan's traffic data, their traffic congestion is basically flat compared to their usual average.
2/ We also know (from video footage) that Chinese police were welding doors closed of infected people and custom sanitation trucks drove around spraying down common streets where businesses reside.
3/ The US on the other hand, is still not doing enough to combat the Coronavirus. Google data shows us that grocery stores are only seeing a 22% decline vs. the average. Parks have seen a 19% decline. The US is doing decently in avoiding recreation, workplace, and transit.
4/ With this said, I am not trying to be a pessimist, but I am frankly sick of hearing about how "we're getting through this" and "the worst is most likely behind us".

Tell that shit to the 70K already dead and the 35K new cases per day lately as hospitalizations come with lag.
5/ I get it. These markets are built on hope and false promises. They are built on lies and news headlines. Enough is enough though to be honest. My mother works in healthcare (not frontline) and the horrors I am hearing from her establishment are scary.
6/ So do me a favor. Let's fight against Coronavirus and spread truth rather than bullshit.

Because China did way more than the US & still are not back to normal 4 months later.

The US is NOT some special flower that's just going to come out of this in a month.
7/ I guarantee you that someone who has recently changed their tune about COVID also changed their portfolio(long)

And yes, I'm short.

Why?
10 million+ unemployed (wait till April's numbers).
Economy is at a standstill.
This is a on-going tragedy and there is no solution yet.
8/ And while I am defending my financial position, I am also trying to defend TRUTH with DATA.

There is a big difference between myself & the hedge fund manager who was a super doomer 2 weeks ago & now did a complete 180.

"This is almost over".

Based off what fucking data?
9/ New development. Animal transmission of Coronavirus.

Nothing known about whether animals can give back to humans yet, but as we know, we have been behind the curve at every single step of this thing so who knows.
10/ By the way, "the worst is behind us" as hedge fund managers sit in their mansions tweeting hopium with a new fat long position open.

I've never seen money take such a priority over human life. I've said this before, but it's frankly just sickening.
11/ Since when does Trump hold press conferences at 7pm ET?

Oh wait, since 60 minutes is doing a story on the downfall of the economy at 7pm ET.

Nice.
12/ CBS still airing 60 minutes. Get fucked.
