lisa is not a good dance mentor.
i said what i said.
1. lisa tried to give feedback DURING a performance. thatā€™s a BIG no no. performing in front of a mentor and other students takes a lot of concentration! itā€™s much easier said than done.
she should have given feedback while they were training or AFTER the performance.
performing,, as ive said before,, takes a lot of concentration and lisa giving out advice during the performance can interfere with the dancers concentration.
2. she praised 2 of the dancers and started complaining about the other one that didnā€™t take her advice. that can really discourage a dancer. she should have been careful with her word choice, too. she dragged down the dancer that messed up, instead of giving -
her some encouraging and motivating words on how she could improve.
3. the tone in her voice and the way she talks to her students.
she makes herself an authority figure in this situation, rather than levelling herself with her students and talking to them in a calm and understanding way. authority figures in dance make the atmosphere really -
tense and can discourage students.
iā€™m not saying this to drag lisa down. i have nothing against her. i just want to let yā€™all know that she cannot teach! and thatā€™s okay! some people are meant for the stage and some people work better as mentors. some people do both! but this girl cannot teach,, iā€™m sorryšŸ˜”
