in all seriousness, jhope is one of the best mentors i’ve ever seen.
as a dance teacher, it is VERY important to put yourself on the same level as your students. authority figures in dance scare students and the atmosphere becomes really tense. as soon as there’s a tense atmosphere, students tend to fuck up much more easier -
and have trouble concentrating. hoseok didn’t put himself above the students. he talked to them in a calm way and showed that he’s there to teach them in a supportive atmosphere, where he motivates the students, makes the effort to dance with them & correct their mistakes -
without getting angry.
he also made sure to talk to them and help correct their mistakes while they were still training. i’ve seen mentors try and correct students while they’re in a middle of a performance but that’s exactly what SHOULDN’T be done. you have to correct mistakes-
while students are still training or AFTER a performance. students are in full concentration when performing and if you try and give them feedback during that time, it will interfere with their concentration & mistakes will easily be made.
