Since it's a pandemic lemme make a spotlight about one of my Pathfinder characters I'm very excited about. No reason tbh, I'm just bored.
Lemme tell you about 'Geist' Zia Kaddren. She is born in nobility, from a powerful family of wizards. She attended one the best wizard schools in the country through her youth, until one day, her parents disappear, and assassins get her.
It seems like she's been murdered, yet she miraculously survived the encounter; strange, fog-related powers appear. Her hands and feet become invisible, and her hair is now milky white.
Zia stays in the holiday mansion where she was "killed", and elaborates a complex heist where she pretends to be a ghost, for two years. If she's officially dead, she knows the assassin's won't come back. People begin to talk about the haunted Kaddren mansion.
And how the Kaddren girl's spirit seems restless! One day, an adventurer from the Pathfinder Society investigates the mansion for the locals, and discovers the truth about the Kaddren Girl, now going with the name of Geist for protection:
She is no ghost, but a lately awakened Sylph. Geist, shocked by this revelation, applies to join the Society with the adventurer, where she would learn how to hone her particular form of magic based on a ~ghostly~, aerial aesthetic.
So Geist has one of the builds I am the most proud of โ€” all began when I discovered Sylphs had access to a feat as early as level 1 where they can see through clouds, mists, and other weather-related obstructions. Even magical ones, albeit with some restrictions.
I also knew that Sylphs and... Goblins, I think? Are the stealthiest races in Pathfinder. Another cool thing is that clouds are all in the Conjuration school of magic! So she starts as a Wizard, Conjuration School, Teleportation Subschool.
But she won't stay wizard for long โ€” she becomes rogue next level, to eventually become an Arcane Trickster. So in combat, Geist will conjure up Obscuring Mist, and can comfortably Sneak Attack where the enemy can't see her! Even with ranged attack-based spells ๐Ÿ˜
Ghost aesthetic to. The mist comes up, and this spectral, wispy pale girl shoots spells from over your line of sight. Brrrrr
"But why Teleportation then" well Jimmy I'm glad you ask, that's because since the power from that Subschool is a short Teleportation "working like Dimension Door", she can take the Dimensional Agility feat super early ๐Ÿ˜
Dimensional Agility allows you to continue acting after teleporting, and eventually leads up to a series of blinkings where you can attack multiple enemies far apart like Nightcrawler
And the Scout Rogue archetype allows you to sneak attack in a charge ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ Dimensional Agility (well the blinking part) is a charge ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜
So Geist is in her cloud, teleporting multiple times per round and sneak attacking in melee, but also at range, virtually invisible to the enemy
"where is she now Martha"
So tldr, I made a fake ghost Arcane Trickster in Pathfinder, who's going to do Haunting Heists. For that party, for now, we also have a Swamp Monster so I really hope we're gonna be the Universal Monsters lmao
Were-Swamp Thing, Ghost Girl, we need a Mummy and a Dhampir at least
So thank you for staying with me on this character spotlight ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ Tell me if you would eventually want to see more, I wanted to do it for a while but didn't know if it would be annoying ๐Ÿ’€๐Ÿ’€๐Ÿ’€
