listening to the @UPNOW2020 campaign report now. this is one of the chapter's flagship campaigns but as you can imagine, the current situation has changed things quite a lot
with no way to legally gather signatures, universal preschool is not going to make it the ballot (no doubt pleasing to some people). the campaign is asking people to sign this petition to allow online signature-gathering https://actionnetwork.org/petitions/allow-digital-signature-gathering-for-citizens-initiatives-during-covid-19-state-of-emergency?source=direct_link&referrer=group-universal-preschool-now-campaign
report back from amazon workers solidarity campaign. workers are scared, being put in danger for non-essential items & ready to take action. there is no current call for a boycott but please try to limit your purchases to essential items if you shop at amazon rn
now dividing into smaller breakout groups to check in with each other on "what projects we're working on, how we are doing & how we can support each other during this time". this is a really nice idea!
finishing up the meeting with a report about local YDSA (and calling for a new liaison) & a quick orientation for new members!
